Questions, bugs, or a forum that does not work? Email [email protected]. Include the forum's address and, for a bug, what you tapped and what you expected.
Why does a forum say "Not signed in"?
Every Discourse forum keeps its own members. ABDA has no account of its own, so each forum you want to post in needs its own sign-in. Until then you can read everything the forum shows the public.
How do I sign in?
Open the forum, open the menu at the top left, and tap Sign in. The forum's own sign-in page opens; after you sign in there, the forum hands the app a key. Your password never passes through ABDA.
How do I add a forum that is not in the directory?
On Home, tap the link icon at the top right and type the forum's address, for example forum.example.com. Any forum that runs Discourse opens. If it does not, the forum may have disabled API access for apps — ask its admins.
How do I remove a forum from Home?
Tap the × on its card under Recent. This forgets the forum and its sign-in key on your device.
How do notifications work?
Sign in to the forum, then enable notifications in the forum's settings inside the app. Forums that predate notification support may require signing out and in again, because a forum's key is issued once with fixed permissions.
Something looks wrong in dark mode
ABDA uses the forum's own logo and colour scheme, including the dark variants when the forum provides them. If a forum only uploaded a light logo, it may look off in dark mode. Tell the forum's admins, or tell us and we will look for a fallback.
Can I get an app just for my forum?
Yes. ABDA is built on an open-source project you can fork, and we also build custom branded apps for forum owners. See the home page or email us.
